On Saturday, November 24, 2012 a few members of T.B.V.A.C. along with the President of the Board of Governors, Kerry DeGiovanni drove to Union Beach First Aid Squad to present Chief Carlos Rodriquez with our old rig. The reception from Carlos and the members of Union Beach First Aid Squad was incredible. Union Beach located at Exit 117 off the Garden State Parkway lost their Ambulances and suffered tremendous damage to their Headquarters. Words cannot describe the devastation we saw in this area. Four of the Union Beach First Aid Squad members lost their homes during this storm while other members lost cars and have damage to their homes. However these volunteers didn’t lose their desire to help those in need they just needed an ambulance to make that happen.

Members of the Tri-Boro Volunteer Ambulance Corps along with the Board of Governors unanimously agreed to donate our old Ambulance to the Union Beach First Aid Squad. Our members proudly cleaned, stocked and prepared the rig to go to its new home. Once we arrived in Union Beach that day and after a brief tour of the area, it was obvious we had done the right thing.

As we were saying our Goodbyes, Union beach First Aid Squad received a 911 call for help. Our old rig was in service, driving away lights and sirens to someone in need. That was the best “Thank you” we will ever receive.
